چکیده

BIJMA et al. (2007a,b) presented a quantitative genetic theory of multilevel selection and showed how to estimate the relevant parameters using standard REML methodology. Extending their results we develop a wider class of models that provide a more realistic framework for capturing the effects of interacting individuals. These models also make use of standard REML techniques, and include the original model as a special case.

Multilevel selection 3: modeling the effects of interacting individuals as a function of group size.

Phenotypic assortment mediates the effect of social selection in a wild beetle population.

Social interactions often have major fitness consequences, but little is known about how specific interacting phenotypes affect the strength of natural selection. Social influences on the evolutionary process can be assessed using a multilevel selection approach that partitions the effects of social partner phenotypes on fitness (referred to as social or group selection) from those of the trait...

Group Decision Making for Hazard Analysis and Consequence Modelling Software Selection with AHP

Software evaluation and selection have begun to be addressed as a topic title along with the fact that microcomputers and then personal computers have become widespread and have been used in the operations of businesses. In this study, it was focused on the selection of software for identifying the physical effect distances of the explosion, fire, and toxic emission, which is an impo...

The influence of neighbor relatedness on multilevel selection in the Great Lakes sea rocket.

Natural selection can operate at the individual and group level in natural populations. This study investigates the ecological factors that determine the relative importance of individual versus group selection. In particular, it determines how the relatedness of interacting neighbors influences multilevel natural selection in a population of the Great Lakes sea rocket. Focal plants were grown ...

A Progressive Multilevel Model for Selecting Medical Tourism Destinations: A Qualitative Study

Introduction: The overall objective of this study was to design a progressive multilevel model using the Delphi method for selecting a medical tourism destination which includes three levels of decision making: the destination country, then the destination city, and finally, the healthcare center in the selected city. This model can be used as a new area of research for further...
